Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender in an educational setting. It was first passed in 1972, and over the years has become widely and legally understood to define sexual misconduct as a form of gender discrimination.

At Central Wyoming College, Title IX guides the College’s processes and procedures for investigating and adjudicating reports of sexual misconduct, as well as offering support options. Title IX also provides a mechanism for letting the federal government know when you believe that Central Wyoming College (or any school) has not met their obligations to stop and prevent sexual violence within the educational setting.

Procedures

The procedure is available here and the implementation process is available here.

Reporting

If you want to report sexual misconduct anywhere on campus, you can report to Campus Security at 855-2143, the Title IX Coordinator at 855-2113, or complete this form.

    • All staff are required to report any notice provided by a student about possible sexual misconduct to Campus Security or the Title IX Coordinator.  If a student wishes or is unsure if they want to maintain confidentiality, please refer them to a campus counselor. Otherwise, all other staff are required to report incidences of sexual misconduct.
